Tooth Restoration
Repair Worn, Cracked or Broken Teeth.
Get Your Smile Back to Optimal Health & Appearance.
It's bad enough having to smile with worn, cracked or broken teeth. It's embarrassing. But worse, damaged teeth negatively impact your health, too.
Cracked or broken teeth can become decayed, and left untreated, can lead to infections, abscesses and tooth loss. Worn teeth can change your bite position, causing TMJ or other bite-related pain. All these problems are easily and comfortably resolved with simple tooth restoration procedures.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Safer Than Silver
If you've got metal fillings in your mouth, it's time you thought about replacing them. Why? Because they can do more harm than good.
Because they're made of metal, amalgam fillings are reactive to temperature changes; they expand when exposed to heat and contract when exposed to cold. All that movement can cause a tooth to fracture or break. It also creates a space between the filling and tooth wall that allows bacteria to get in and cause further decay.
Dr. Tzendzalian restores cavities with tooth-colored composite fillings that are safe, strong and look completely natural. He is happy to assist you in replacing older, failing amalgam restorations.
These composite materials are biocompatible. They are entirely safe for use in your tooth, as well as safe for the environment if and when they need to be disposed.
Inlays & Onlays
An inlay or onlay is a much more conservative restoration for the tooth than a metal filling. While traditional fillings can reduce tooth strength up to 50 percent, inlays and onlays made of high-strength porcelain can actually increase tooth strength by up to 75 percent, lasting from 10 to 30 years.
What are Inlays?
Inlays are used to restore inside the cusps of the tooth. They are made of strong, long-lasting and natural-looking materials, such as porcelain or composite resin, and are invisible in the smile. Inlays are a conservative tooth restoration, meaning that they require far less drilling and preparation of the tooth than a metal filling does. This allows us to save much more of the healthy tooth.
What are Onlays?
Onlays are used for large restorations. They restore inside the cusp and extend over one or more sides of the tooth. They can also be used as a crown or cap. Because of their size, onlays are made of strong material, usually porcelain. Like inlays, they are conservative tooth restorations that require far less drilling than metal fillings. An onlay can often be used to repair only the damaged portion of the tooth, leaving much more of the original tooth structure intact.
Dental Implants
Do you have missing teeth? Completely replace them with dental implants. Dental implants replace both the tooth and its root.
First, Dr. Tzendzalian will surgically place a titanium "root" in your jaw. Once the gum tissue has healed around the root, he will fabricate a porcelain tooth and place it permanently on the root. The new tooth looks, feels and functions just like your natural teeth. You even treat it just like your natural teeth, brushing and flossing. No special care required!
CEREC® One Visit Crowns
CEREC technology allows us to create and place ceramic restorations, including crowns, onlays and veneers in only one visit. It produces a comfortable chewing surface and blocks the bacteria that can penetrate under traditional restorations. In fact, CEREC materials are the closest restoration material to your natural tooth science can offer. CEREC allows Dr. Tzendzalian to be extremely precise and save more of the healthy part of the repaired tooth.
This amazing system takes a digital image of your tooth and then mills a custom restoration from solid ceramic block in just a few minutes. We can then place the restoration as soon as it's done. There are no impressions, no temporaries, no waiting for a lab to make and send the restoration. You have no concerns about an incorrect fit and because there's no second visit, there's no second shot and no need to take off any more time from work!
